A Day in the Park...

There is nothing my little man loves more than being in motion- whether it's in the car, the stroller, his bike or on a swing....he's a happy boy. Last night we strolled over to our little park and got some shots of Kaleb enjoying life!

rollin' to the park

he had some HILARIOUS facial expressions & a great hair do!

And lastly, he was lovin' life on the lady bug :)

We hope that everyone has a wonderful Labor Day Weekend...we're soaking up the sun & relaxation, come Tuesday we're back to being teachers!

PS- which also means my posts may be few & far between! How does one work, take care of a child & a husband AND find time for a blog?!?!?!

Adults Only!

Joe has been a busy, busy boy lately....

Joe's Grandpa Leo has the BEST PICKLE RECIPE known to man-kind, and this summer Joe made our first batch of pickles. To make it even more special, we had Grandpa Leo's big kettle to boil the brine in :) We have to wait until Thanksgiving time to try them out....it's killing me!! I'll keep you posted on their delicious-ness!!

While I suppose the pickles COULD be given to children, Joe's other project is strictly for ADULTS ONLY! He's been talking about trying to brew his own beer for over a year now, and this summer he finally found the time to make it happen. He began the process almost a month ago and was just able to bottle it this morning.

54 bottles of goodness

Unfortunately I'm not a beer lover (which I secretly think Joe likes so he doesn't have to share with me)....so after the first sips are taken, I'll let you know how the brew master did :)

Bad, Bad Blogger...

Sorry Folks...I fear that I may be the type of blogger that goes long periods of time without updating you on our crucial life activities merely because of my procrastinating. I've thought to myself often in the past few weeks that I have photos and stories to share- however watching reruns of Laguna Beach and The Hills were obviously more important. Thank goodness it's almost time to return to work!

We've had a busy couple of weeks and weekends. Last weekend we went down to the Cities to visit family. We had lots of fun- Kaleb even had a special date with Auntie Nanny :)

Checking out the backyard with Grammy

The boys!

Auntie Nanny reading books to Kaleb :)

One of the main reasons we went down to the Cities was to attend the Game Fair...we had lots of fun watching the dogs perform hunting tricks, Joe got to shoot trap, and I found fake designer sun glasses for super, super cheap-- does it get any better than that?? My husband kept telling me, prior to the trip, that we should get a puppy while we were there so that Sam has a friend. I told him we could most definitely get a puppy for Sam to play with- as long as he was home all fall to help me train it. Hmmmm....seems we left the Game Fair puppy free, apparently Joe doesn't love Sam more than hunting ;)

While we were at the Fair, Nanny & Kaleb played at the park, took a bike ride, and went for a walk. Kaleb loved hanging out with Auntie Nanny!!

Last weekend we had our last big mile stone before the BIG ONE....eleven months old. Below are a few photos I shot of K in the yard. Where has the time gone?

Keeping Mommy Busy!

We have a full-fledged walker on our hands. Over the weekend, and even on Monday, my little man still preferred crawling to walking and was very, very wobbly. Thanks to "walking boot camp" as I like to call it...he's a full time walker now! He's zooming all over the house on his chunky little legs and loving every minute of it. In fact, he often walks around the family room clapping- he's so proud of himself ;)

Besides walking, he's talking up a storm (usually at an extremely high pitched octave...some of you may be able to hear him if you're within a 500 mile radius!), crawling up the stairs a zillion times a day, reading and playing with toys.

Enjoy a few pictures of our busy, busy days...

Busy, busy playing with his recorder
(yep- we recorded the hair dryer for 40 minutes on that miraculous piece of technology so the little man would sleep!)

Just one of our zillion trips up the stairs in an average day!

Oops...crabby baby :(

The last few pictures are of, I hope, Kaleb's favorite activity....READING! He loves books and will sit on your lap, snuggle in, and listen for as long as you'll read to him. Below he's enjoying the paper and books on his own- which also entertains him for long stretches of time :)
